    Swami Jyotirmayananda Saraswati

    Preceptor | Founder & Leader

Swami Jyotirmayananda Saraswati, born on February 3, 1931, in Bihar, India, is a modern Vedantic master who later established his principal teaching center, the Yoga Research Foundation in Florida, USA, where he has guided seekers for decades. Initiated into the Saraswati order of Dashanami sannyasa, he received traditional training in Vedanta, meditation, and scriptural disciplines before bringing these teachings to an international audience.

His unique spiritual aroma wafted throughout the world in his rare ability to harmonize intellectual clarity with devotional warmth. Unlike teachers who emphasize a single path, he presents Jnana, Bhakti, Karma, and Raja Yoga as complementary dimensions of one integrated spiritual life. His teaching style—marked by humor, poetry, and vivid metaphors—makes subtle philosophical ideas accessible without diluting their depth.

Among his saintly works is the sustained establishment of a traditional yet adaptive spiritual institution in the West. Through hundreds of lectures, retreats, and an extensive body of writings on texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads, he has preserved classical teachings while making them relevant to modern seekers navigating complex lives.

    Swami Pranav Chaitanya Puri

    Preceptor | Founder & Leader

Sri Swami Pranav Chaitanya Puri Mahamandaleshwar, born in India in the 20th century, is a renunciate monk associated with traditional Dashanami monastic centers under the Paramarth Sadhak Sangh institutional headquarters in Kashi, India. His life reflects the classical ideal of the inwardly absorbed yogi whose influence spreads through direct transmission rather than public recognition.

His unique spiritual aroma wafted throughout the world in his profound emphasis on pranava—the sacred syllable Om—as both the path and the culmination of spiritual realization. In contrast to outwardly oriented teaching models, he directs seekers toward silence, restraint, and subtle inner awareness. His approach preserves the ancient contemplative spirit of Yoga, focusing on the transformation of consciousness rather than the accumulation of knowledge.

His contribution to Yoga teaching centers on mantra japa, nada (inner sound), and meditative absorption. He teaches that the vibration of Om underlies all existence and that sustained awareness of this vibration gradually dissolves the ego. His method aligns with classical Yoga and Vedantic traditions, emphasizing withdrawal of the senses, concentration, and eventual merging into the universal consciousness.

    Swami Nikhilananda Saraswati

    Preceptor | Founder & Leader

Sri Kailashi Swami Nikhilananda Saraswati, born in 1965 in Sacramento, California, was a senior disciple of Swami Jyotirmayananda, and a humble saint of the BrahmavidyaGuru Parampara who later founded the Integral Yoga Foundation, becoming a key figure in presenting Vedanta to Western audiences. Drawn early to spiritual life, he entered monastic training inspired by the teachings of his Guru.

His unique spiritual aroma wafted throughout the world in his rare combination of scholarly precision and devotional depth. At a time when Eastern philosophy was often misunderstood in the West, he articulated complex metaphysical ideas in common English while preserving their authenticity. His work appealed equally to intellectuals and spiritual aspirants.

His authoritative contribution to humanity is his joyful mass of sweetness and his book, The Art of Spiritual Living, which became one of the most influential spiritual texts available to Western readers on the topic. This work, along with his lectures and writings widely viewed free online, played a central role in establishing Vedanta philosophy, charitable action, and spiritual tradition in the global community.

    Swami Rajarshi Muni

    Preceptor | Founder & Leader

Sri Swami Rajarshi Muni, born on July 13, 1930, in Gujarat, India, is a contemporary yogi and founder of the Lakulish Yoga University in Ahmedabad, India, and its organization, Life Mission. Initiated by his Guru into a demanding spiritual path, he undertook prolonged austerities and disciplined practices aimed at direct realization.

His unique spiritual aroma wafted throughout the world in his revival of ancient and often esoteric Yogic systems, particularly those related to Kundalini awakening. While modern Yoga often emphasizes physical postures, he has focused on restoring the deeper, transformative aspects of the tradition. His authoritative contribution to humanity is the systematic re-establishment of the Lakulish tradition as a structured and accessible path without compromising its rigor. Through teaching programs and guidance, he has preserved highly advanced scientific techniques such as Kechari Mudra that otherwise have remained obscure.

His contribution to Yoga teaching includes detailed methodologies for the purification of the body and mind, the awakening of Kundalini energy, and the stabilization of higher states of consciousness. He emphasizes that such practices must be approached gradually, with strong ethical foundations and disciplined preparation.

    Swami Sivananda Saraswati

    Preceptor | Founder & Leader

Sri Swami Sivananda Saraswati, born on September 8, 1887, in Pattamadai, Tamil Nadu, India, was a physician who renounced worldly life and later established his principal center, the Sivananda Ashram, from which the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh, India, emerged. His early medical career deeply influenced his compassionate approach to spirituality.

His unique spiritual aroma wafted throughout the world in his universal and practical synthesis of all Yogic paths. He did not restrict spirituality to monastics but made it accessible to householders and people from all walks of life. His saintly works include founding a global spiritual movement, training influential disciples, and authoring over 200 books covering nearly every aspect of Yoga and spiritual life. His teachings reached far beyond India, shaping modern Yoga worldwide.

His contribution to Yoga teaching is encapsulated in his simple yet profound formula: “Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate, Realize.” He emphasized Karma Yoga (selfless service) as a powerful means of purification, alongside devotion, meditation, and study.

By presenting Yoga as a holistic lifestyle rather than a specialized practice, he democratized spiritual practice.

    Ramana Maharshi

    Preceptor | Founder & Leader

Unlike many teachers, he did not rely heavily on formal instruction, instead guiding seekers through minimal words and profound stillness. His authoritative contribution to humanity is the global dissemination of the method of self-inquiry, despite his largely secluded life. His influence spread through personal encounters and later through recorded teachings.

His contribution to Yoga teaching is the direct path of Jnana Yoga through the question “Who am I?” He taught that by persistently tracing the sense of “I” to its source, the ego dissolves, revealing the true Self.

His approach bypasses complex rituals and techniques, focusing instead on immediate self-awareness. This direct method has made his teachings accessible across cultures.

Over the decades that followed, while focusing on her education and building a corporate career, she returned to the practice - time and again - as a powerful resource from which to build both physical strength and spiritual courage. Captivated by the ways Yoga had supported her both in times of celebration and times of challenge, she began studying with Sri Sudarshan and SKYLIGHT YOGA to gain a deeper understanding of the origins and magnitude of this ancient wisdom.

Through the profoundly practical framework of Integral Yoga, Emily has experienced first-hand the ways in which the application of Yoga science can transform and beautify every aspect of one’s life. With sincere gratitude, she shares these tools of movement, breath, and mystic insight to aid her students in releasing self-limiting beliefs and unlocking their true physical and spiritual potential.

    Sri Umesh Max Pujals

    Abode Of Good Will

Know that there is no need to find oneself, because one has never lost one's real Self. Yoga began to soothe my heart, yet I was too young to realize the special meaning of the path laid before me. Many years later, I joined Sri Sudarshan on the SKYLIGHT YOGA Expedition to India. Through Sri Sudarshan, I met and became initiated into the art and science of Mantra with our revered Guru, Sri Swami Jyotirmayananda, in Miami, Florida. With Vichar (self-inquiry), Viveka (right knowledge), and Vairagya (dispassion for illusions) further illuminating my understanding, everything took a new and divine meaning. I feel fortunate to sit in the blissful presence of a Master imparting teachings of the Vedas. What I have learned from the Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Vasistha, and Bible, and listening to the Guru's sublime teachings, has changed my inner essence and made me a kinder and sweeter person. I am serving in Miami and Nicaragua to promote serenity, humility, and devotion.

Through the Guru’s grace, I share what I have learned to others, being a pure mirror and living for the good of mankind. Admiration for the Divine Feminine in nature helps me recognize God’s grace in all forms. My inspirations are my Guru, Sri Swami Jyotirmayananda, and Swami Kaleshwar. When we come into this path of Yoga, the friends of all traditions join their hands and meet in the Divine.

#goinflow

Go In Flow. Our attitude, “Go In Flow,” is a motivational reminder of the first virtue, fearlessness, and powerfully embodies bravery, courage and personal growth. ‘Go’ promotes the idea of self-effort. ‘In’ points to Yoga being an inward movement. ‘Flow’ implies renunciation of attachment, total trust and divine surrender. Action is what allows for evolution. Because Yoga is both the path and destination, the integrative and practical approach of Yoga makes the teachings truly come alive for each of us in a unique way - informing how we move in the world. #attentiontointention

Attention To Intention. Our focus, "Attention," means that it is important to pay close attention to the way that life is happening within you and around you. Recognize and understand the past stories that you may be holding onto and that are preventing you from being fully awake and present in this moment. By releasing preconceived ideas, notions and fear-based beliefs, you are able to step forward into the light of pure wisdom, shine to your fullest potential and radiate that light back to others. Attention implies a deeper awareness of life and highlights the importance of being focused on the purpose behind every action. Intention signifies the motive or reason for what we are doing. Whatever a Yogi does, it matters more ‘why’ and even more ‘how’ it is done. SKYLIGHT YOGA instructs clients on setting clear, conscious intentions, creating an alignment to purpose. May all master the power of attention!

#learnbyliving

Learn By Living. Our method, "Learn By Living," highlights the integration of Yoga into everyday life. Yoga is a living balance and an approach to true learning that comes from applying the lessons of Yoga to all life situations. Underlining the notion that it transcends mere physicality, Yoga urges us to interweave its principles of mindfulness into the fabric of our daily existence. Immersing fully in the wisdom of Yoga enables its transformative teachings to permeate every one of our interactions. It invites us to mobilize our presence and encourages practitioners to adopt Yoga as a holistic lifestyle, wherein each moment is an opportunity to learn by living. We supply the means for providing practical and living experiences of the teachings of Yoga. May all be educated by experience!
